S.G. Goodman + Fust at bowery ballroom

SG Goodman’s music is quintessential Americana. She’s got an arrestingly beautiful voice and the songwriting chops to match. Through a raspy warble, her country-tinged ballads offer glimpses of her life growing up in blood-red rural Kentucky, and they’ll stop you in your tracks (even if you’re from suburban New Jersey and have never encountered a snapping turtle). She released Planting by the Signs in June, and we were lucky to hear her and her band play through the album at the Bowery Ballroom on 10/29. North Carolina alt-country band Fust opened; they’re a similarly stunning Americana powerhouse. See gallery below.
